Welcome
Welcome to the web site for the Brownfields Stewardship Fund!
The Brownfields Stewardship Fund (BSF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to creating fresh approaches to solving America's Brownfields dilemma and the effect its unresolved environmental legacy has on people and neighborhoods across America.
The Board of Trustees formed the nonprofit to help "bridge the gap" that exists between the interests of public policy and the practical realities of the private sector in restoring America's Brownfields to productive, economic reuse. Recycling brownfields saves energy, money, jobs, and neighborhoods as well as promotes green space.
Our programs provide a win-win solution for all stakeholders.
We rescue paralyzed, environmentally damaged properties, and restore them to a health-based marketable standard that attracts economic reuse and sustainable development.
Through the cost effective recycling and upgrading of properties, we not only remove another nexus of crime and deprivation for neighborhoods, we also remove barriers to new economic and social opportunities for all.
In pursuing our mission, we help arrest urban sprawl, enrich neighborhood diversity and recharge the urban tax base that funds school districts and creates sustainable employment opportunities.
